WALTER D. WINGER Passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, June 6th, 2012 at his late residence with his loving wife Muriel and family members by his side, after a courageous struggle, Ret. Norfolk O.P.P. General Duties Officer Walter Douglas Winger, a resident of Adams Ave., Delhi, at the age of 83. (Former dedicated employee of the N.Y. Central Railway (for eight years) and former Norfolk O.P.P. Officer (Simcoe Detachment) for twenty-eight years, Walt loved golfing with his grandsons, sons & friends). Much loved husband of sixty-three years of Muriel (Bradt) Winger, loved father of Paul Winger (Linda) and Timothy Winger, all of Port Dover; Pamela (Toby Miller) of Buna, Texas, U.S.A. Proud and loving grandfather of: Jay Winger (Gail); Christopher Winger (Cortney) and Melissa (Jared Shaw) and five great-grandchildren: Monique, Maia, Cody, Alexander Winger & Liam Shaw. Survived by a sister Bernice Heatherington, London and the late Joseph and also survived by his sisters-in-law: Juanita Smyth, Woodstock; Viola (Don Partington), Thorold; Marilyn (Harry Anderson), Tillsonburg; Leone Bradt, Aylmer and a brothers-in-law Leonard Bradt, Hamilton; John Roloson, Port Burwell and nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Harold Winger and the former Marjorie Reaume and two brothers Neil and Louis Winger. Friends, neighbours and relatives will be received by Muriel and the family, on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Verhoeve Funeral Home, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg (519)842-4238. Funeral Service to celebrate Walter’s life to be conducted on Saturday, June 9th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Verhoeve Funeral Home Chapel, Tillsonburg, by Rev. Jonathan Tinlin of Tillsonburg. Internment to follow in the St. Luke’s Cemetery, Vienna.
