Passed away, suddenly but peacefully, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on July 16th, 2020, Albert Thomas Van Acker, of RR2 Vienna and formerly of Woodstock, at the age of 76. Born in Simcoe, Ontario to the late Albert Van Acker Sr. and the late Dorothy Van Acker. Albert was a dedicated employee and supervisor at Delhi Industries for over 25 years, retiring in 2008. Albert will be sadly missed by his special buddies “Morgan,” “Raven,” and “Liam.” Loving and devoted husband to Donna Van Acker for 53 wonderful years. Albert leaves behind his much-loved children Dale Van Acker (Leslie), of Wycombe and Jennifer Bakker (Jeremy), of Tillsonburg. Special grandfather to Quinn (Heather), Austin (Amber), Colin, Brayden, and Kalleigh. Survived by siblings: Doreen (Maurice) Casier, of Langton; June Skevington, of Tillsonburg; Odele Vermeersche, of Tillsonburg; sister-in-law Cheryl Van Acker and by several nieces, nephews, close friends, and cousins. Predeceased by siblings Louise Wilson (2005) and Jim Van Acker (2015).

In keeping with Albert’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. There will no formal visitation nor a funeral service. A Celebration of Albert’s Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the “Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario,” or to the “St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation of Toronto” (Just for Kids Clinic) would be gratefully acknowledged by the family and can be made by credit card at verhoevefuneralhomes.com, or through the MAURICE J.
