Obituary for Anise L. (Vuylsteke) Romel-Deelen
ROMEL-DEELEN, Anise Leona (nee Vuylsteke) (December 23, 1934 – November 7, 2022) -
Passed away, peacefully, after a courageous struggle with illness, Anise Leona Romel-Deelen (nee Vuylsteke), on November 7th, 2022, at Caressant Care, Courtland, at the age of 87. Anise was born in Silver Hill to the late Henri Vuylsteke and late Madeleine (nee Bekaert) Vuylsteke. For many years, Anise farmed tobacco in the Langton area. Anise was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Langton, the Sacred Heart Catholic Women’s League and was a formerly dedicated member of the Langton Women’s Institute. Anise was predeceased by her first husband Joseph Anthony Romel (1984) and by her second husband Lucien Deelen (2019). Anise is lovingly remembered by her son Lane Romel, by his wife Karen and their two children: Henri Romel and Sean Romel, as well as by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her brother Emiel Vuylsteke (survived by his wife Luz).
Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service has taken place in Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Langton, by Rev. Fr. Thomas Kuriacko.
