Obituary for Arabella Julia Jakob (Abraham)

Passed away, on Saturday, November 16th, 2019, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, with her loving children, by her side, Arabella Julia Jakob, a resident of Tillsonburg since 1966 and formerly of Corinth in her 83rd year. Born in Ruthven, New Brunswick daughter of the late Alex Abraham and the late Theresa (Kreps) Abraham (both originally of Hungary). Predeceased by her beloved husband Coloman Jakob Sr. (1991). Much loved mother of three children: Sandra Jakob, Coloman Jakob and Barbara Jakob, all at home. Survived by two brothers: Emaiel Abraham and George Abraham and two sisters: Barbara Abraham and Margaret (late Ted) Eftoda, all of Oakville. Also Survived by three nieces: Donna Tulipan, Tillsonburg, Katherine (Aaron O’Dell), Keswick and Sheila (John) of Mississauga. Survived by a brother-in-law Dennis Jakob (late Marlene) Coniston, Ontario. Predeceased by two sisters: Irene (Steve Tulipan) and Irma Abraham. Arabella was a dedicated employee in seasonal flu-cured tobacco, the Tobacco Warehouse, Fernlea Flowers, RR3 Delhi, for 22 years until retiring in 2001 and Fleck Mfg., Tillsonburg for 13 years. Arabella kept busy and worked hard throughout her life.

Family members viewed their mother, said their goodbyes and spent some time with her prior to cremation. Everyone is welcome to attend a time of visitation on Tuesday evening, November 19th, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the MAURICE J. VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOMES – BURIAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg (519) 842-4238. Further visitation Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral Service to Remember and Celebrate Arabella’s Life will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, Tillsonburg by Pastor Brent Shepherd of the Bethel Temple, Tillsonburg. Inurnment follows in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the “Heart & Stroke Foundation” or the “Arthritis Society” or the “Samaritan’s Purse Canada” charity in memory of Arabella.
