Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on January 20, 2020 at Terrace Lodge, Aylmer, Audrey Ruth (Wingrove) Shearer, formerly of Courtland in her 89th year. Audrey was a former dedicated employee of Borden’s, Tillsonburg and a co-proprietor of the former Courtland Small Engines, Courtland. Predeceased by her husband of 56 years Roy Ernest Shearer (Feb 9, 2008). Loved mother and mother-in-law of: Lynn (Frank Hawel), and their children Melodie and Audrey’s beloved late grandson Stephen (Jan 12, 2020) and his wife Jennifer; Douglas Shearer (Patricia Hall), and their children Eliesha (Josh) and Nathaniel (Olivia); Terry Shearer (Deborah Krentz), and their children Katie (Josh), Tyler, Kayla, Chelsea, and Lillie. Audrey is also survived by 7 special great-grandchildren, a sister Joan Kelly, a sister-in-law Alice Wingrove (late Milton) and a brother-in-law Robert Shipp (late Inez). Predeceased by her siblings: Marjorie (late Glen Baron), Maxine (late Walter Cook), Mary Lou, Dora (late Michael Kobialka).

Friends and relatives are invited to join in a time of remembrance on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-4238). A Funeral Service to Celebrate Audrey’s Life will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, Tillsonburg by Pastor Rev. Lola Mather-Dyer, of Springford Baptist Church. Interment follows in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Audrey to Stephen’s two boys Lucas and Owen would be sincerely appreciated by the family (cheques made out to “Jennifer Hawel”).
