Obituary for Brenda Lee Nowell (Carson)

Passed away, peacefully with family by her side, at the Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg, on Monday, September 7, 2020, Brenda Lee (Carson) Nowell, at the age of 71. Brenda will be remembered as a former Legal Secretary and for her dedicated volunteerism with the MS Society – Oxford. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1981, she lived life to the fullest. Despite Brenda’s physical ailments, she did not complain or let it slow her down; she was very crafty, enjoyed quilting, sewing and cross stitching. Such a wonderful woman - and we are all grateful and blessed at having had her in our lives.

Much loved wife of 51 years to Bill Nowell, of RR1 Otterville. Lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren: Christopher Nowell (Jennifer), of Cumberland, B.C. and their son Alexander; Callie Spice (James), of Beachville and their children Maizie and Zephyr; Clay Nowell (Alesha), of Woodstock, and their children Hayden and Madison. Brenda is also survived by her brother Brad Carson (Arlene), of Courtland and by her cherished lifelong friend Brenda Foris.

In keeping with Brenda’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date with details to be announced in the future. Friends and relatives are invited to offer their support and caring by sending flowers, posting photos, tributes, favourite memories, and hugs from home on Brenda’s tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com. Memorial donations to the “MS Society - Oxford” would be gratefully acknowledged and can be made through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (519-842-4238), entrusted with all cremation arrangements, with confidence.

“The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful PSW’s, Nurses and staff of Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg for all their love and attention through the years. Special thanks to Shelley Wall, Brenda cherished their friendship."
