Obituary for C. Dawn Chatten

Passed away, peacefully after a courageous struggle with illness, on March 30th, 2021 at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, Carolyn Dawn Ruth Chatten, of Tillsonburg, in her 70th year. Born in England, to the late ‘Ron’ Chatten (June 4, 2001) and to the late Hilda (Smithers) Chatten (August 1, 2020). For many years, Dawn was employed as a clerical worker between the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. In her spare time, Dawn loved crafting and she enjoyed miniature doll making. Always a caring sister to Christopher (Cathy) Chatten, of Tillsonburg and to Jane (Robert) Townsend, of Clear Creek. Loving aunt to Mark (Emily), Ashleigh (Andrew), Stephanie (Derek), Carol, John and great-aunt to Malcolm, Liliana, Ana-Sophia, Archer. Survived by her aunt Joan Johnson in England and by several cousins. Predeceased by her uncles George Chatten (late Margaret) and Len Johnson.

In keeping with Dawn’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation nor a memorial service at this time. In the Woodland Cemetery, London, Dawn’s cremated remains will be scattered at a later date. Everyone who knew Dawn are welcomed to offer their support and caring by posting photos, sharing favourite memories, and hugs from home on Dawn’s tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be greatly appreciated to the “Purrfect Companions of Norfolk” and can be made through Dawn’s online tribute page.
