Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Sinnesael

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family, on Saturday, September 26th, 2020, at L.H.S.C. – Victoria Campus, London, Charles “Chuck” Sinnesael, at the age of 89. Born on August 22, 1931 in Pain Court, Ontario to the late Alois and late Lucy Sinnesael. Chuck was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Langton, serving two terms on the Pastoral Parish Council. Chuck started his career as a Volunteer Fireman in 1952, where he worked his way up the ranks and served his last several years as Fire Chief. He started his career as an ambulance attendant in 1964 and ended his career as a co-proprietor of Verhoeve Ambulance, Langton. He retired from both emergency services in 1996. Chuck will be remembered as a community benefactor, ‘elite professional’ with an exemplary standard of service in all that he did. In Chucks spare time, he was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending quality time traveling with his beloved wife of 68 years, Rose (Baecke) Sinnesael, as well as his beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Always a loving father to Dan (Eva), Ken (Deb), Jim (Karen – and her daughters Nicole, Alyssa, Bailey) and Patti (John). A doting grandfather to Kady (Dave), Rebecca (Ian), Kendra (Steve), Danielle (Michael), Kristina (Sean), Meghan and Sadie. A proud great-grandfather to Weston, Mabel, Spencer, Charley-Rose, Sloane and Orion. Survived by sister-in-law Coralie Sinnesael, and brother in law Robert Demeester. Pre-deceased by Romain (1952), Desire (1968), George (1977), Maurice (2011), Camile (2016), and by two sisters Edna Demeester (2011), and Antoinette Hill-Shafer (2015), Brother-in-law Frank Baecke (2014), Sister-in-law Angele Baecke Dewaele (2015). Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID safety restrictions, public visitation will be LIMITED to ONLY guests that sign up for specific time to attend. Time slots will be available by visiting Chuck’s tribute page or by calling (519-842-4238) between 9am and 4pm. Each person attending must be listed as a guest. Guests must bring and wear face masks and maintain social distancing rules. Guests are asked not to attend if they are ill, if they have been around someone else who is ill or have travelled. Guests are encouraged to attend only when their time slot begins. If guests arrive too early, they are asked to wait in their vehicle. If guests arrive too late, they may be unable to enter.

Public visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 40 Queen Street, Langton, with four time slots available: 1:00 to 2:00 pm, 2:15 to 3:00 pm, 6:00 to 6:45 pm and 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Norfolk Fire and Rescue Fire Stations funeral tribute family walkthrough will take place on Tuesday 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm exclusively. Parish prayers will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. Private Complete Funeral Mass to Celebrate Chuck’s Life and Legacy will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Langton by Rev. Fr. Ben Huyge. Cremation follows with later inurnment in the Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery Columbarium Wall. Memorial donations in memory of Chuck to the “Sacred Heart Church - Building Fund” or to the “charity of your choice” would be gratefully acknowledged by the Sinnesael family and can be made at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by cheque through the Maurice J.
