Obituary for D. "Les" Anderson

Passed away, peacefully, on Friday, August 21, 2020, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, with the love of his family by his side, D. Leslie Anderson, almost a lifelong resident of Tillsonburg in his 85th year. Les was much-loved husband of 56 years of Marilyn Alice (Nelson) Anderson. Much loved father and father-in-law of: Deb (Dan O’Leary), Owen Sound; Mary Anderson, Tillsonburg. Proud grandfather of Michael (Amy), Sara (Mike) and loving great-grandfather of: Noah, Chase, Everly. Les was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was a dedicated employee of Borden’s, Tillsonburg (1960 – 1966), Lummus Co. – Foreman in Kincardine (1969 – 1979) and Ontario Hydro “Sub Foreman” in Port Hope (1980 – 1994). Survived by his brothers: Harvey Anderson (Mary), RR1 Mossley; Fred Anderson (Lana), Aylmer and his sister: Laura Hawley (John “Bud” December 23, 1976), Tillsonburg. Predeceased by his parents: James Anderson (August 27, 1979) and Edith Anderson (July 29, 1966); also predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Eleanor Grant (November 5, 2012) (Bill); George Anderson (December 28, 1999) (Phyllis, September 27, 1999); Albert Anderson (January 11, 2018) (Margaret, January 23, 2004); Ivan Anderson (October 15, 1967).

In keeping with Les’ expressed wishes cremation has taken place. Graveside Service is planned for a later date in the Nelson family plot at Delmer Cemetery by Associate Minister Rev. Pat Cook of the St. Paul’s United Church, Tillsonburg.
