Obituary for Darlene Vanhooren (Helsen)
VANHOOREN, Darlene (September 20, 1952 – October 31, 2022)
Welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Monday, October 31st, 2022, at the VON - Sakura House, Woodstock, with her loving husband Marcel and family by her side, Darlene (Helsen) Vanhooren of Delhi, at the age of 70.
Darlene was a member of the Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Langton, and member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Women’s League for over 40 years. She loved travelling, especially to Florida and she really loved working with her family on the farm especially in her tomato and flower greenhouse.
Much loved wife of 51 years to Marcel Willy Vanhooren and loved mom of Dennis Vanhooren (Tyneil) and Jessica Vanhooren (Tyler). Survived by her brother Ronnie Helsen (Patty), Courtland and the late Francine Helsen. Survived by in-laws: Margaret Vanhooren, Waterford; and late Jerome; Maria and late Gaston Geysens, Delhi; Godelieve Nolf, Burlington, and late Andy Nolf; Willy and Susan Vanhooren, St. Thomas; Irene Gubesch, Tillsonburg and late Martin; and also survived by an aunt and an uncle Angela Helsen (Luke Van Haelst) Belgium. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant twins Jennifer and Christine (1976) and her parents Mariette and George Helsen.
Public visitation will take place at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes - Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 40 Queen Street, Langton on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Public Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held to Celebrate Darlene’s Life and Faith in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 24 Albert Street, Langton, on Friday, November 4th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., by Rev. Fr. Thomas Kuriacko. Interment follows in Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Langton.
