Obituary for D. Mason Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, D. Mason (December 25, 1950 – December 4, 2021) –

It is with sadness, we the Armstrong family wish to announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful father, brother, uncle and friend to many, D. Mason Armstrong, a resident of Tillsonburg, at the V.O.N. Sakura House, Woodstock, on December 4th, 2021, at the age of 70.

Mason is survived by his much-loved daughter Keely Armstrong, of Tillsonburg, sister, Catherine Armstrong, of Cambridge, brother, Boyd (Elaine) Armstrong, of Tillsonburg, sister-in-law, Diane Armstrong, of Toronto, as well as by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, Harold (Baldy) and Ethel (nee Palmer) Armstrong and by his brother Clarke Armstrong.

Mason was remembered as the fun uncle that would take his nieces and nephews to the beach for the day or camping at Long Point. Many will remember Mason, for his talkative and friendly demeanor and for his years of dedicated service, employed by Armstrong Bros. Pharmacy, Big V Drug Stores and finally Shoppers Drug Mart. Mason was an avid sports fan, faithfully following the Leafs and Blue Jays as well as the Buffalo Bills. He also had a passion for comic book and anime art which he would spend countless hours discussing with his friends. Mason also had a voracious appetite for movies, especially the classics.

In keeping with Mason’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends, relatives and former neighbours are welcomed to offer their support and care by sharing special memories, posting photos or contributing memorial donations to the “VON Oxford” (for Sakura House Hospice) or the charity of their choice via Mason’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com, or by contacting the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, Ontario (519)842-4238, which has been entrusted with all arrangements, with confidence.
