Obituary for Donald Bruce "Don" Young
Young, Donald Bruce (July 19, 1933 – February 4, 2022)-
Passed away, peacefully, at his late Langton residence, our much-loved father, grandfather, and friend Donald (Don) Bruce Young, on February 4, 2022, at the age of 88. Don is predeceased by his loving and much-loved wife of 62 years, Audrey “Joan” (nee Leeming) Young (July 4, 2021).
“My dad was a lover of farming and sports. He played high school football, hockey and baseball. Dad started coaching baseball in his mid 20’s. That is how he met my mom. She shared the same love of sports. Her brother played on the team dad coached and she volunteered to take the stats. Mom being a Montreal Canadian fan and Dad a Boston Bruins fan always made for an entertaining Saturday night. My brother and I are so very fortunate to have picked Don and Joan as our parents. They shared a love affair of over 60 years.”
Always a caring father and father-in-law to: Christopher Donald Young and his wife Monique, of South Carolina, U.S.A and grandfather to their children Alex, Amanda, and Jessica; Daniel John Young and his wife Louise, of Oakville, and grandfather to their children Benjamin and Max. Predeceased by his parents Carlton Young and Mary (nee Daw) Young, by an infant daughter, and by two sisters.
In keeping with Don’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place.
