Obituary for Madge Graydon-Ayres
GRAYDON-AYRES, (Eva) Madge
Passed away, peacefully at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on January 11, 2022, Madge Graydon-Ayres of Tillsonburg and formerly of Straffordville in her 96th year. Born in Straffordville, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Humphrey. Predeceased by her mother Minnie, step-mother Annie and husband Wallace. Madge is also predeceased by her first husband Dixie Conrad Graydon and her second husband John Ayres. Madge lived in Tillsonburg and was a long time employee of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Once retired, she enjoyed fishing and socializing with family and friends in the Long Point area. In her later years, she resided at the Tillsonburg Retirement Centre. Madge was a helpful assistant delivering mail, assisting with table setting, bingo, horse-racing and many other various activities. Madge is survived by her much loved son Brian (Betty Lou Graydon) and daughter Jeana Graydon. Proud and loving grandmother of Amanda (John) Berardi, Cynthia (Scott) Gozzard and Briana Graydon, and Jeana’s son Dylan (Tiara). Great-grandmother of: Amalynn, Raelon, Graydon and Ambria Berardi; Aiden, Corbin, Gavin and Colton Gozzard; and Colton Graydon (son of Dylan). Madge was the 2nd eldest of 5 children and predeceased by her siblings: sister Donna Gilbert and the late Dave, Holly Beckett and the late George, Hugh Humphrey (predeceased) and Maxine Bowlby-Weir and her husband John, and the late Edith.
A private Family Service is planned. The interment will take place in the Humphrey Family Plot in the Smuck Cemetery, Straffordville. At Madge’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com all are invited to share cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, as expression of sympathy memorial donations in Madge’s memory can be contributed to the “Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation” or a charity of your choice.
