Obituary for Ernest Jacob Durham

Passed away, peacefully on July 5th, 2020 at Park Lane Terrace, Paris, Ontario, Ernest Jacob Durham, of Paris and formerly of Tillsonburg and London, at the age of 91. Ernest was born in Westminister Township, Ontario to the late Jacob Durham and the late former Pearl Bishop. Ernest was a proud Life Member of the Confederation of Grain Millers Union Local #154. Ernest was a dedicated process operator and foreman at Kellogg’s, London for 38 years, retiring in 1984. Ernest was an avid fisherman. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Lenore (Swindall) Durham (Feb 11, 2018). Survived by his loving children: David (Linda) Durham, of Harley; Frank (Cathy) Durham, of London; Wayne Durham (Anna), of Calgary, Alberta; Judy (Kerry Birley), of Paris; James Durham (Carmen), of Burlington. Loving grandfather to 10 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids and survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his brother Arthur Durham (1967).

In keeping with Ernest’s expressed wishes, a Private Family Funeral Service will take place in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Dundas Street, London on Thursday, July 9th, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. by (voluntary associate) Rev. Pat Cook, of St. Paul’s United Church, Tillsonburg. Friends and relatives are invited to offer their support by posting photos, tributes and hugs from home on Ernest’s tribute page at verhoevefuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the “Canadian Cancer Society,” or to the “Heart and Stroke Foundation,” can be made through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Tillsonburg (519-842-4238), entrusted with funeral arrangements.
