Obituary for Eugene Joseph Varga
VARGA, Eugene Joseph (1943 - 2022)
Passed away, peacefully, after a courageous struggle with illness, on Friday, July 22nd, 2022, (‘’Gene’’) Eugene Joseph Varga a resident of New Road, RR2 Tillsonburg, at the age of 78. Born in Czechoslovakia, September 12th, 1943, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. George Varga and later a stepson of Mary. Gene came to Canada by boat at 5 years of age with his parents to try and find a new life beginning after World War II.
Much-loved husband and best friend of Yvonne (Casier) Varga. Loved father of Debbie (Barrie Uhrig), and their daughter Amber, Kitchener; Lisa Varga, St. Thomas; and Darryl Varga (Amie), and their children: Danika, Yvette, and Dylan, RR2 Tillsonburg. Survived by a sister-in-law Terezia Varga of Tillsonburg and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by a brother John Varga.
Eugene lived a full and satisfying life filled with amazing points of interest. Eugene was a dedicated employee at Livingston’s International, Tillsonburg. Then later he opened the Eugene Varga Real Estate, Tillsonburg and was a member of the Tillsonburg Real Estate Board. ‘’Gene’’ worked in tobacco on nearby farms. He later worked at Cami, Ingersoll since its opening onset for seventeen years retiring in 2002. Cami had a problem with a particular model of vehicle and he trouble-shot discovering solutions that won him a coveted special award recognition. Gene loved racing cars. He drag-raced in places such as Sparta and Delaware Racetracks. He even rebuilt his own drag racer that he named ‘’Troublemaker’’ from scratch and raced it on occasion.
In keeping with Gene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends, neighbours and relatives are invited to offer support and sympathy to the family by sharing favourite memories, photos, letters of condolence or contributing memorial donations to the “Canadian Cancer Society” or the “Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario” via Eugene’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by cheque through the Maurice J.
