BARNES, Eunice Madeline (August 30, 1937 – March 15, 2023)
Passed away, peacefully, safely into the welcoming Arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023, with loving members of her family by her side, at the Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock, Eunice Madeline Barnes, formerly of Courtland, in her 86th year. Lifelong resident of Middleton Township, Ontario, daughter of the late Bernard C. Barnes and the late Reta (Bilger) Barnes. Loved sister of Esther Allison, of Tillsonburg (late Jack); David Barnes (Robin), of Woodstock and Richard Barnes (Deb), of Woodstock. Special aunt of 16 surviving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Patricia (“Elaine”) Veitch and late James (“Allan”) Veitch and a brother Russell Barnes and late Lucina (Kaufman) Barnes and a late nephew Gary and two late nieces Trina and Tamara.
Eunice was a devout Christian and member of Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church. Eunice was an Educator in Corinth, Indiana, U.S.A., Woodstock, and Langton Public School for many years. She cared for and loved all her students and former students.
Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend funeral home visitation on Sunday, March 19th, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg. Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Eunice Barnes to be conducted on Monday, March 20th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Paul Schallhorn, of Peace Lutheran Church, Tillsonburg. Interment to follow in the family plot in St. Peters Cemetery, Rhineland.
