Obituary for Glenna Jean White

White, Glenna Jean (Feb. 12, 1935 – Apr. 5, 2022) –

It is with sadness, we the White family announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Glenna Jean White, a resident of Woodstock, at Woodstock General Hospital, on April 5th, 2022, at the age of 87. Jean was born in Norwich, to the late Gilbert Bowerman and late Irene (Sprague) Bowerman. Predeceased by husband and best friend of 31 years, James H. White Sr. (Nov 30, 1982). Always a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her children and families: Patricia (Fred Fruin), of Stratford; Brenda (Wayne Wall), of Simcoe; James G. White Jr. (Debbie), of Ingersoll; Sandy White (Dave Hussey), of Tillsonburg; Renee (Serge Côte), of Tillsonburg; Reg. White (Bea Young), of Tillsonburg; Verna White (Jon DeJager), of Woodstock. Also survived by her sister Sandy (Billy Hamilton), of Windham Centre, as well as by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by three sons: infant Jimmy, Renford, Fred, as well as by two brothers: Fred and Verne.

In keeping with Jean’s expressed wishes, a public traditional funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, by Pastor Rob Esson, of Hi-Way Pentecostal Church, Ingersoll. Interment will follow in the Otterville Cemetery. Public visitation will be held on Friday, April 8th, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. (service time) in the Verhoeve Funeral Home Chapel, Tillsonburg. All who knew Jean are invited to share special memories, favourite photos, send flowers or contribute donations in memoriam to the “Canadian Cancer Society” through Jean’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com.
