Obituary for Grant Alfred Lawrence

It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Grant Alfred Lawrence, of Port Burwell and formerly of Georgetown and Blenheim, at home, on January 12, 2021 at the age of 68. Born in Scarborough, to the late Cecil Lawrence and late Mary (Hinde) Lawrence. Grant will be remembered for his 45 years of employment in law enforcement and investigations with the Metropolitan Toronto Police, and the Federal and Provincial Consumer protections departments. Grant is survived by his wife and partner for nearly 40 wonderful years, Mary Lawrence. Grant will be dearly missed by his children and grandchildren: Shawn J. Lawrence (Morna Scott-Dunne) and their children Rayna Lawrence-Scott, Kailer Lawrence-Scott, late Greenlea Lawrence-Scott, of Brampton; Shannon B. Lawrence (Andrew Natale) and their son Marco (Mark) Lawrence Natale, of Timmins; Tara (Melissa Walker) and daughter Madyson Walker-Baker, of Innisfil. Survived by his siblings Garth Lawrence (Pat Lawrence), Gilda Lawrence, Glenda Lawrence-Skilton (Jerry Skilton), and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his sister Gayle. Survived by in-laws Mary and Louis (deceased) Bernad. Steven Bernad (Lucrezia Bernad), Louis Bernad, Susan Bernad (Shawn Gregory) and Helena Bernad and nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Grant’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. At this time, there will be no visitation nor a memorial service. Friends and relatives are invited to offer support and caring by posting photos, notes of tribute, favourite memories and hugs from home on Grant’s tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com. Memorial donations to the “Canadian Cancer Society” would be gratefully acknowledged by the Lawrence family and can be made through the Maurice J.
