Passed away, suddenly at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, with family by his side, on Friday, June 5th, 2020, Harvey Douglas Boughner a resident of RR3 Tillsonburg and formerly of Fairground in his 82nd year. Born in Walsingham son of the late Wilfred Orville Boughner and the late Margaret “Annie” (Matthews) Boughner. Harvey was a skilled self-employed carpenter for many years and later was a dedicated employee at Decloet’s, where he helped build barns, schools, homes with Gabe and Dan Decloet. Harvey was a former Port Rowan Optimist Club member. Harvey and Pauline were custodians of Jericho Cemetery for years. Much loved husband and best friend of 45 years of Pauline Ann (Strome) Boughner. Loved father of Julia (Julie) Strome, Tillsonburg (Stephen Mudford); Tracy Montgomery, Tillsonburg; Tabby-Jo Boughner (Rick Fraser), London; Harvey Charles “Chuck” Boughner, Walsingham; Robert Boughner, Saskatchewan; Calvin Boughner (Wendy), Walsingham; Cindy (Scott Addison), St. Williams; Scott Boughner (Cheryl), Delhi; Bart Boughner, St. Williams; and Hollace Hebert (Holly), Delhi. Also loved by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Survived by his first wife, Hollace Mole, St. Williams, the mother of his older children. Predeceased by his two brothers: Charles Matthews (1952), Clarence Matthews and the late Verda. Harvey was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and hunter. He was a good husband, father and family man. Harvey was a friend of Pastor John Friesen and the New Hope Baptist Church, Tillsonburg.

Cremation has taken place. In light of the recent COVID-19 social distancing regulations, a Private Family Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Harvey Douglas Boughner will be conducted by Pastor John M. Friesen, of the New Hope Baptist Church, Tillsonburg on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, 40 Queen Street, Langton. This service is private and restricted to a limited number of guests, we apologize for the inconvenience, but we ask that you keep Harvey, Pauline and their family in your thoughts. Private Family Inurnment follows in the Jericho Cemetery.
