Obituary for Ila May Snow (Townsend)

Passed away, on Friday, April 17th, 2020 at the University Hospital – London Health Sciences Centre, Ila May (Townsend) Snow, a resident of Courtland, in her 63rd year. Born in Tillsonburg, Ila May was a lifelong resident of Courtland area. Daughter of the late James Leighton Townsend and the late Violet (O’Flaherty) Townsend. Ila May will be remembered for her great love and ecstatic hugs she had for family and her many friends many of whom she met while she worked at the Red Grill at the Woolco and Return Claims and Shipping and Receiving at our local Tillsonburg Walmart for a combined over 35 years of dedicated efforts at her loved workplaces amongst her Walmart family where she will be greatly missed. She also enjoyed the challenge and satisfaction of designing spectacular cakes and especially wedding cakes.

Ila May was the much loved wife and best friend of 25 years of Don Snow. Ila May will be greatly missed and is already greatly missed by her loved family: Jane (Willy Drees), RR3 Delhi; Violet Townsend, Tillsonburg; Pearl Townsend, London; Jim and Dennise Townsend, Courtland; Joe and Jennifer Townsend, Tillsonburg; and a sister-in-law Linda Townsend, Tillsonburg and the late George (August 9, 2011). Well loved by her several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great great-niece.

A Family Graveside Service will take Saturday, July 18th at 2:30 p.m. in St. Ladislaus Cemetery, Courtland where Ila May will be buried beside her parents after a Rite of Committal by Rev. Fr. John Pirt of the St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Tillsonburg. Arrangements entrusted with confidence to the MAURICE J.
