It is with great sadness we the family announce the passing of our much-loved mother and grandmother, Irene Astra Holowachuk, of Tillsonburg and formerly of Toronto, on May 4th, 2021, at the age of 81. Irene was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Tillsonburg. Irene could be described as a quiet, private person, who enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her dogs Bendy, Max, and her more recent companion, Gabby. Predeceased by her much-loved husband of 52 years, Emil Holowachuk (April 30, 2012). Always a caring mother to Dr. Brian (Angela) Holowachuk, of Tillsonburg. Proud and caring grandmother to Connor Holowachuk (fiancé Mollie), of Toronto.

In keeping with Irene’s expressed wishes, a Private Family Liturgical Celebration of Irene’s Life has been held in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, by Rev. Father Ben Huyge, of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Tillsonburg. Private family interment will take place later.
