Obituary for James L. "Jim" Sitts
After a short but brave fight, our broken hearts wish to announce the passing of Jim Sitts, who passed away on Saturday, August 10th, 2019 at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll in his 70th year. He was born in Tillsonburg on February 8, 1950 and has lived in the Brownsville area for 48 years.
Beloved husband of Sharalee for 50 years. Loving father of Vikki (Rob), Sonja and Caroline (Stephen). Will be greatly missed by grandchildren Mark, Lauren, Marrissa, Abigail, Kristin and Evan. Brothers and sisters Larry, Wayne, Bonnie and Sharon (Tom Vance), Brother and sister-in-law Bud and Gwen Becker, Garth and Tena McClung, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents Betty (1995) and Murray (2005). In-laws Wilfred McClung (1994), Madeline (Young) McClung (2003), sister-in-law Janice Young (1998).
Jim worked countless years in the service station and auto parts sector retiring from Horvath Auto in 2015. He was a member of the Brownsville Fire Department from 1972 to 1980. He participated in bowling, Red Sox baseball and loved to golf and camp. He enjoyed sitting on the deck watching birds, squirrels, chipmunks and deer. The stars at night held his attention. Campfires in the evening with Sharalee with a glass of wine were a pleasant past time.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, August 16th, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service to Celebrate James’ Life will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 1:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg 519-842-4238 by Natalie Hahn (niece). Inurnment in Delmer Cemetery. Memorial Donations to “Alexandra Hospital- Palliative Care Unit,” or to the “Children’s Health Foundation- London” would be appreciated by the family.
