Obituary for Lorraine Martha (Vandendriessche) Peters
Peters, Lorraine Martha (Vandendriessche) October 24th, 1952 – March 14th, 2023
Lorraine Martha Peters, of Tillsonburg and formerly of Langton passed away peacefully at the University Hospital in London Ontario, on Tuesday March 14th at the age of 70, beside her loving husband and best friend, Daniel Peters of 48 years. She will be deeply missed by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark (Sarah) Peters of Tillsonburg and David (Nicole) Peters of Courtland. Grandmother (Mémé) to: Alex, Liam, Juliet and Ryan. Loved sister and sister-in-law of: Nancy (Fred) Provoost, Ronald (Linda) Vandendriessche and Larry Vandendriessche all of Langton also a special aunt and great-aunt to all their children. Lorraine is predeceased by her parents Michel Vandendriessche (1987) and the late Godelieve (DeFauw) Vandendriessche (2000) and a brother Daniel (1949).
Lorraine proudly worked at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital in many different departments for 15yrs before celebrating her retirement. Lorraine loved to cook and celebrate special occasions with her family. Her true pride and joy was her children and her grandchildren, she enjoyed attending as many soccer, hockey and baseball games as she could. She also enjoyed going to car shows with her close friends and boating in the past. She very much enjoyed hosting and fundraising for special events in the community and loved to talk and laugh about old times and how much she enjoyed Slo-Pitch and Langton Oldtimers Hockey and helping with the Catholic Women’s League, she also loved the farm lifestyle and was a true “farmgirl.” She will truly be missed by her family, friends and community.
Relatives, friends and neighbours are welcomed to offer support to Lorraine’s family by attending on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (service time), in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Service Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg. Funeral Liturgy Service to honour Lorraine’s Life and Faith to be conducted at 10:30 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, by Rev. Fr. Seejo John, of St. Mary’s R.C. Church. Family inurnment in the Columbarium at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Langton at a later date.
