Obituary for Luzia Anne Hohmann (Hechtl)

Passed away, peacefully into the Arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Chris, at Dearness Home, London, on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020, Luzia Anne (Hechtl) Hohmann, formerly of Tillsonburg, Brownsville, and Straffordville, at the age of 88. Born on July 14, 1932, to the late George Hechtl and late former Kreszenzia (Ziegler) Hechtl. Luzia was a proud member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Tillsonburg, a member of the Delhi District German Home Ladies Society and a dedicated 35-year employee of the former Livingston’s Industries, retiring in 1997. Luzia is survived by her two much loved sons: Gus (wife Mary) Hohmann, of London and Josef ‘Joe’ Hohmann, of London. Loved “Oma” of Mark (wife Caroline) Hohmann, of London; Kathleen ‘Katie’ Hohmann, of London; great-grandchildren Shelby, Gunner, Abigale ‘Abby’. Also survived by her brother Joseph Hechtl, in Germany.

In keeping with Luzia’s expressed wishes, a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 51 Venison Street West, Tillsonburg by Rev. Fr. Thomas Kuriacko. Public visitation will take place in the MAURICE J. VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOMES – BURIAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg, on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Due to COVID safety restrictions, attendance for the funeral mass and visitation will be limited to only guests that sign up for a specific time to attend. Visitation time slots will be available by visiting Luzia’s tribute page or by calling (519-842-4238) between 9am and 4pm. Each person attending must be listed as a guest. Guests must bring and wear face masks and maintain social distancing rules. Interment to be held in the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
