Maas was a very loving husband, father, grandfather friend and hard-working man. He worked for Carroll Brother's Hardware, Stauffer Motors, Oxford Gulf/Battery Supply (machinist & tow truck driver) and was the proud owner of M & R Small Engines. Maas loved farming and enjoyed being on their hobby farm for 44 years before moving into town. Maas was a great handy man who loved wood working, helping others, fishing, and hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

In keeping with Maas's expressed wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation and a private family burial will held at a future date. Thank you to Dr. Cheng for all his care and home visits and his nurse Amy, Dr. Foster and her nurse Julie at Victoria Hospital, Care Partner Nurses, and the Chemo & Palliative Care teams at Woodstock Hospital.
