Obituary for Margaret "Maggie" Shaver (Braun)

Passed away, peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on February 26th, 2020 at her late Port Burwell residence surrounded by family, Margaret ‘Maggie’ (nee Braun) Shaver, in her 45th year. Born in Leamington, to the late Jake Braun and dearly missed by her mother Katherine Braun, of Leamington. Proud co-proprietor of ‘De-Hy Technology’ with her husband Bruce, which manufactures fruit powders for nutraceutical supplements. Maggie was a proud member of Springfield Baptist Church and member of the ‘chicken sisters’ friendship group. Family was everything to Maggie, she will be fondly remembered for her fabulous cooking and hospitality and for her role as the family party planner.

Maggie is survived by her much loved and loving husband, Bruce C. Shaver. Survived by their much-loved children: Kayla Lovei (Timothy), of Springfield; Ryan Guenther (Brooke), of Windsor; Monica Finley (Mark), of St. Andrew’s, New Brunswick; and Whitney Shaver (William), of Springford. Maggie will be missed by her special grandchildren: Lachlan, Elliott, Jordyn, Timothy, Jonathan & Waverley. Survived by her loving mother Katherine and stepfather Jake Wiebe, of Leamington, siblings Ike Braun (Martha), Jake Braun (Nicole), ‘Kat’ Braun (Beau) and by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives, friends and neighbours are invited to attend a Funeral Service to Celebrate Maggie’s Life on Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-4238) by Pastor John Twinem, of Springfield Baptist Church and Pastor Ike Unger, of Deer Run Church, Leamington. All that knew Maggie are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, February 28th, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, Tillsonburg. Memorial donations to “The Baker Pancreatic Cancer Centre at London Health Sciences Foundation” would be gratefully acknowledged by the Shaver family and may be made through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Tillsonburg, which has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
