Obituary for Margery A. Baxter (Tattersall)

BAXTER, Margery A. (1922-2021) –

It is with sadness, we the Baxter family wish to announce the passing of our much-loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many, Margery A. (Tattersall) Baxter, on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, in her 100th year. Born in North Norwich Township, to the late Eric Tattersall (1980) and to the late former Charlotte Daniel (1982). Many will remember Margery as a member of North Broadway Baptist Church and an ardent volunteer with the Ladies Mission Group. For many years, alongside her (predeceased) husband Ralph (April 7, 1993), they worked hard together on the family farm, primarily producing chicken eggs. Margery will also be remembered for her 10 years employed with the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, with her fellow kitchen staff. In more recent years, she enjoyed quilting and the friendships she developed while living at the Harvest Crossing Retirement Community, Tillsonburg. Always a caring mother to her children: Charlotte Mudge (Ken predeceased (2016)), June Kemp (Roger), Wesley Baxter (Marla), Norman Baxter (Vicky). Proud loving grandmother to: Allan, Annette (Steve), Alison, Monica, Dwight (Val), Melissa (Steven), Sarah, Stephanie, Alicia (Jeremy), Adam (Natalie), Marcia, her step-grandchildren: Morgan (Sean), Lauren (Chris), Kimberly (Paul), Amber (Matthew), Samantha (Darren), and her eighteen great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother-in-law Clare Neil, of Woodstock and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her siblings Norman Tattersall (1927), Nina (late Jack) Walpole, Elsie Neil, William Tattersall, sister-in-law Edythe Way (late Frank).

In keeping with Margery’s expressed wishes, burial will take place in the Baxter Family Plot in Delmer Cemetery on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021, following a private graveside funeral service, officiated by Rev. Mark Barrett. Regrettably, due to COVID-related attendance restrictions, this will be a private family event at this time.
