It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Marie Emma (Saelens) Harries, on January 27th, 2020, at Woodingford Lodge, Tillsonburg, in her 97th year. Marie was born in Belgium to the late Emmanuel and Freda (Deporter) Saelens, they immigrated together to Canada in 1928. Marie is predeceased by her husband Roy Harries (1971). Survived by her son Tyrone ‘Ron’ (Ellen), of London; a grandson Jeff (Moy), of Tillsonburg; a special great-grandson Cole and by a sister-in-law Connie Harries, of Tillsonburg. Predeceased by her son Arthur ‘Art’ Harries (2019), her sister Jeannette Schacht (2006), and grandson Bradley Harries (2006).

All that knew Marie are invited to attend a time of remembrance on Friday, January 31st, 2020 from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg. A Funeral Service to Celebrate Marie’s Life will follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m., by Phyllis Buchner LLWL, of Fairground, Ontario. Burial follows in the Cultus United Cemetery. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice can be made in person or online through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Tillsonburg (519-842-4238), which has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
