Obituary for Marjorie "Gerry" Geraldine Johnson (Ball)

Passed away, peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Chartwell Aylmer Long Term Care Residence. Gerry, formerly of Tillsonburg, was in her 82nd year. Much loved wife and best friend of Ben Johnson for 62 years and loving mother of Wendy (Johnson) & Steve Englander, of London; Janice (Johnson) & John Simon, of Dorchester; and David (predeceased 2016) & Helen Johnson, of Tillsonburg.

Survived by grandchildren: Karrie Englander (Mark Hedden), Nathan Englander (Ginny), Brianne Englander, Greg Simon, Kyle Simon, Jeremy Simon, Matthew Johnson (Jenna) and Brittany (Johnson) MacKay (Blair). Also survived by great-grandchildren Evey Englander & Brooke MacKay.

Family and close friends have always been very important to Gerry as was her love for her dogs.
Gerry was as a bookkeeper at Merlin Motors in St. Thomas, stayed home to raise her family for many years and later occasionally worked in the office of B.F. Johnson Auto Electric Ltd.

Gerry was a member of the Tillsonburg Lioness Club and a former Brown Owl Brownie Leader.

Friends, neighbours and relatives will be received on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Home, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (519-842-4238).
A graveside service with family and close friends to be conducted on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tillsonburg Cemetery by Rev. Paul Robinson, of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Tillsonburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gerry’s memory to the “Chartwell Aylmer L.T.C. – Auxiliary,” the “T.D.M.H. Foundation,” or “Dave Johnson Memorial Dog Park” would be gratefully appreciated by the Johnson family and can be made through the Maurice J.
