Obituary for Max Edward Morrison

MORRISON, Max Edward (1948-2020)

It is with deep sadness that we the Morrison family announce the peaceful passing of Max Edward Morrison on Saturday, November 7th, 2020, at his Simcoe residence surrounded by his loving family. Max was born in Simcoe, to the late Robert James Morrison and late Doris Eileen Jamieson and raised in Carholme.

Family was all important to Max. Loving husband to Irma (Flores) Morrison, devoted father to Ryan (Alison Gardner) and Andrew (Alessandra Morrison) of Simcoe; Jesus Flores, Mexico. Caring grandfather to Willow, Maya, Eli, Lily, Max and Chloe. Loved by nieces, nephews and cousins and so many others whose life he touched. Predeceased by his brother Robert ‘Bob’ James Morrison (March 25, 2019).

Max was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was gracious, compassionate, and loving and epitomized the universal values of being kind and forgiving. Max had a passion for life, for business and a true sense of adventure. This passion took him around the world, often on motorcycles with his eternal best friends, brother Bob and cousin Ross.

A private Funeral Service to celebrate Max’s Life and Legacy will be celebrated by Ted Smith, of Courtland United Church on Tuesday, November 10th, 2020 in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Home in Langton. Interment follows on Tuesday in the Knowles Cemetery, Carholme. Due to COVID, attendance will be limited to those contacted directly by the family. The family deeply regrets this difficult restriction.

All guests that do attend must bring and wear face masks and maintain social distancing rules. On Wednesday, November 11th, on Max’s tribute page, a memorial video will be available for viewing, for anyone affected by these restrictions. There will not be a public visitation. A future public Celebration of Life (likely in the Spring/Summer of 2021) will be held to honour Max.

Friends and relatives are invited to offer support and caring by posting photos, notes of tribute, favourite memories and virtual hugs from home on Max’s tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com. You can also provide your contact information on the tribute page should you want to attend the celebration of life in the spring. Memorial donations to the “Courtland United Church” would be gratefully acknowledged by the Morrison family and can be made (by cheque only) through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Langton or Tillsonburg (519-842-4238), which has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements, with confidence.
