Obituary for Miklos "Mickey" Majorcsak

MAJORCSAK, Miklos “Mickey” (Nov 16, 1928 – May 25, 2021) –

It is with great sadness, we the family announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many, Miklos “Mickey” Majorcsak, on May 25th, 2021, at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock, in his 93rd year. Born in Adorjan, Romania, to the late Julius and late former Theresa (Lelenka) Majorcsak. Mickey was a longtime resident of Potters Road, Tillsonburg, where he farmed tobacco for 55 years, alongside his wife of 45 years, the late Helen Mary (Gliba) Majorcsak. Mickey was a proud farmer, and he loved the land; he could be found toiling on the farm from dawn until dusk. Mickey has a passion for working hard, helping others, and he could light up any room with his big smile. Mickey was a member of the former St. George’s Greek Catholic Church, Courtland. Mickey’s sustaining legacy will always be his family. Forever remembered by his loving children and their families: Rosemary Couture (late Serge), and their daughter Siobhan, of Tillsonburg; Cathy (Gerry) Greenfield, of Hagersville, their eldest son Steven (Karaline) Greenfield (children Charlotte, Lucy, Lola), youngest son James (Jess) Greenfield. Survived by his son-in-law Louis Bari (late Christine) and their eldest son Adam (Courtney) Bari (children Owen, Delaney), youngest son Bryan (Meghan) Bari (children Lucas, Ethan, Connor). Survived by niece Marilyn and nephew Fred, and cousins. Predeceased by his brother Julius and sister-in-law Audrey (Delhi) and two sisters in Romania.

In keeping with Mickey’s expressed wishes, a Private Family Liturgy to Celebrate Mickey’s Life will be held in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment will follow in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to offer their support and caring by posting photos, sharing heartfelt memories, and by contributing donations in memoriam (to the “Simcoe and District Humane Society”, or to “Purrfect Companions of Norfolk”, or to any charity of your choice) on Mickey’s tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or through the Maurice J.
