Obituary for Myrna (Lock) Young
YOUNG, Myrna Mae (Lock) (May 4, 1945 – January 23, 2023)
We the family sadly announce the passing of our much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, special aunt and friend to many, Myrna Mae (Lock) Young, a recent resident of the Otterville area, formerly of Mississauga, at the age of 77. Born in Toronto, daughter of the late Gordon and late Audrey (Hosak) Young. Myrna loved her husband Michael and her family immensely. She was a dedicated employee of Air Canada (Passenger Agent) for 37 years; she loved her work and “the girls” (co-workers) at Air Canada. She then worked at HomeSense for 10 years. Myrna’s hobbies were lawn bowling (in Oakville), reading, knitting, worldwide travel (her favourite trip was to India), as well as collecting antiques (especially dishes).
Myrna is lovingly remembered by her husband (of 60 years), Michael N. Young, her children and grandchildren: Darrin (Sheli) Young, of Otterville and children: Davis Young, MacKenzie and Brady Cunningham; Jennifer (Aaron) Williams, of Whitby and children Aidan and Megan Williams. Much loved sister of: Janice (John) Martin, of Toronto; Terry Lock, of Kitchener; and David (Sharon) Lock, of Mississauga, as well as by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also survived by a sister-in-law Patricia and brother-in-law Douglas Dalgleish, of Dundas.
In keeping with Myrna’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be neither visitation nor a memorial service. Inurnment will take place in Mississauga at a later date.
