Obituary for Patrick Elwyn Morris
MORRIS, Patrick (May 1, 1958- November 6, 2023)
After a courageous struggle with illness, on Monday, November 6th, 2023, with family and close friends by his side, Patrick Elwyn Morris (L.L.M.) a resident of Carlton Street, Toronto and formerly of Tillsonburg, at the age of 65 years. Patrick was a certified tax lawyer with a Master of Laws degree.
Pat was a part of the legendary Glendale Griffins basketball team under coach Brian O’Rourke in high school. After he graduated from Glendale High School, he attended Laurier University for his undergraduate degree. At the University of Ottawa, he achieved his law degree in French, and then at Wayne State University in Michigan, U.S.A. he received his Master of International Tax Law. He played varsity basketball at Laurier and the University of Winnipeg.
Pat was born in Tillsonburg, son of the late Thomas D. Morris and the late former Theresa (McIver) Morris. He will be fondly remembered by his two sisters: Margaret ‘’Margee” Morris and her partner Pierre Lagacé, Wellington, New Zealand and Mary Jo Morris, Stratford, Ontario. He is survived by his aunt Josephine Becheley and by numerous cousins. Pat is survived by tons of friends who have always stood by Pat throughout his life and illness journey.
In keeping with Patrick’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be appropriately and lovingly interred with his parents in the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
