Obituary for Phyllis Rose Scott (Green)

The Scott family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother, on January 2, 2020 at her late Tillsonburg residence, Phyllis Rose (Green) Scott, in her 90th year. Born in Tillsonburg to the late Andrew and Rose (Lowrie) Green. Phyllis was a member of North Bayham United Church until it closed in 1968, she then attended First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg. Phyllis lived an exceptional life of helping others. Phyllis was also a bus driver with both DeMont and Ravin’s Coach Lines for over 30 years. She was also a cancer survivor. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 69 years George Scott and by her much-loved children: Gregory Scott (Laurie) and their children: Jason and Lisa (late Rick Harvey); Denise Light (Bill) and their children: Eric Brown, Scott Brown, Taylor Light (Matt) and Christie Light. Predeceased by her daughter Janice (May 13, 2000) and survived by her partner Raymond Schram and her children Martin (Alex) Pitter and Cedra Pitter. Proud great-grandmother of: Joshua, Matthew, Logan, Westley, Isabella, Jocelyn, Cynthia, Kyla, Nickie, Neveah, Kiersten, Chezlynn and Adriana.

Friends, neighbours and relatives are invited by George and the Scott family to attend a time of visitation on Monday, January 6th, 2020 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. (service time) in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg. A Complete Funeral Service of Remembrance will be conducted on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, by Pastor Steven Amorin of First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg. Cremation follows with later inurnment in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to the “First Baptist Church- Building Fund” may be made through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Tillsonburg (519)842-4238, which has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
