Obituary

Passed away, peacefully after a courageous struggle with illness, at the V.O.N. Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock, on August 1st, 2020, Ruth Evelyn Livingston, a long-time resident of the Tillsonburg area, at the age of 70. Raised in a farming community, she did not hesitate to try new things, which led her to branch off into retail and real estate. Ruth was always full of positivity; she had a real zest for life and loved to travel, she made friends wherever she went. Anyone that knew Ruth could describe her as a gifted storyteller who gave freely of herself and her knowledge to anyone who asked for or was willing to listen. This knowledge also came in handy when frequenting yard sales; she always loved a good bargain. She will be greatly missed. Ruth leaves behind two sons: Geoffrey and Gerry-John Livingston. Lovingly remembered by her sister Bridget Sullivan and by her nieces Jill Farmer and Joanne Beckett, all of Nova Scotia.

Upon hearing of Ruth’s passing we wept for the loss of this beautiful soul. We went through photo albums dating back to 1973 when we first met Ruth and Gerry. We laughed as we shared wonderful memories of times spent with Ruth, Gerry and the boys. We tried our best to stay in touch despite the distance. Ruth’s unique expressive voice will always be with us.
You fought a brave fight dear friend. We love you dearly Ruth.
Our deepest sympathies to Gerry-John, Geoffrey, Bridget and Family.

I was saddened to read of Ruth's passing. Ruth was a patient in the same room as my husband Ken Beselaere last December. On the evening before his death Ken had a nice visit with Ruth about people they both knew in the Courtland area. It was the last lucid conversation Ken had before his passing the following morning. I will be forever grateful to Ruth for her kindness to him.
My thoughts are with her family at this time.

Deepest sympathies to Geoff and Gerry. I have fond memories of Ruth from when I was a child and playing hockey with Geoff. She was always so friendly and kind.
