Passed away, peacefully, surrounded by loving family members, at her late Brownsville Residence, on April 16th, 2020, Shirley Irene (Firby) Patterson, at the age of 68. Shirley was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario to the late Don Firby and late former Phylis Conner. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 27 years, Ray Malcom Patterson (May 13, 2008). Shirley will be remembered for her 20 years of employment with Moffat and Powell in Tillsonburg, retiring in October 2018. Shirley loved to bowl throughout her younger years and has always been an avid baseball fan, keeping close tabs and closely following the Toronto Blue Jays. Shirley will be dearly missed by her much loved daughters Melissa Patterson (Dean Masson), of La Salette and Dawn Patterson (Jonathan Hurley), of Straffordville. Special grandma to her three grandsons Dean Masson Jr., Logan Masson and Jackson Hurley. Survived by her brother Ken Firby (Mary Lynn), of Aylmer and predeceased by her brother Pete Firby (survived by wife Velma, of Port Burwell). Shirley will be remembered by special friends Carolyn, Phil Oxley and Ken, Lorraine Watters.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family visitation and funeral service will take place in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg, by Rev. Pat Cook, of St. Paul’s United Church, Tillsonburg. On Shirley’s tribute page (at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com), relatives, former neighbours and friends are invited to share their favourite photos, memories, express condolences or make memorial donations in honour of Shirley to “Heart and Stroke” through the Maurice J.
