Obituary for Susan Evelyn "Sue" Phillips

Passed away, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous struggle with illness, on Monday, September 7th, 2020, at her late RR2 Tillsonburg residence, Susan Evelyn Phillips, at the age of 59. Born in Woodstock to the late Pat (Patterson) Arthur (2012) and to Roland Phillips Sr., of Ingersoll. Susan was a dedicated employee of Autoneum, Tillsonburg for 42 years. Much loved partner to Doug McKillen for over 15 years. Together they enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was at the cottage, on the quad or entering the Salmon Fishing Derby in Owen Sound with Carrie and Don, they could always be found together. Susan also enjoyed going to the cottage with friends and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Dearly missed by her children: Courtney Chambers, Nicole Chambers, Jonathan Chambers, Janet Caldwell (Dan) and by her stepdaughter Blair McKillen. Special grandmother to MacKenzie, Alex, and Aiden. Beloved sister to Sandra Phillips (Reinhard Psotka) and predeceased by her brother Roland Phillips (June 14, 2020). Also survived by 8 caring brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In keeping with Susan’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are invited to offer support and caring by sending flowers, posting photos, notes of tribute, favourite memories and hugs from home on Susan’s tribute page at the www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com. A private Graveside Service to Celebrate Susan’s Life will take place a later date in the Langton Baptist Cemetery, by Reverend Allan Wilson, of Langton Baptist Church. Memorial donations to “VON Oxford” (for Sakura House) would be gratefully acknowledged by the family and can be made through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc., Langton (519-842-4238), entrusted with all arrangements, with confidence.
