Obituary for Tanya Joan Ellis-Blakley (Ellis)

Passed away, suddenly, on Saturday, November 14th, 2020, at her late residence, RR7 Tillsonburg, Tanya Joan Ellis-Blakley, in her 35th year, with her loving high school sweetheart, best friend, and husband, Thomas George Blakley, by her side. Tanya was dedicated to her family. She was an excellent wife, a terrific mom and a great aunt and daughter-in-law. She loved to help her community of Brownsville, serving on all community fundraisers and was a dedicated member of the Brownsville Hall Board. Loving mother of Tyler, Tegan and precious guardian of Branden. Much loved daughter of Philip Ellis and Kelly (Cornwall) Ellis of Tillsonburg; much loved daughter-in-law of George and Georgette Blakley of RR7 Tillsonburg. Loved sister of Thea Ellis (Richard), Toronto; Tina Ellis (Jeff Price), Tillsonburg. Also survived by a sister-in-law Sherri Rowland and her husband Shane; a sister-in-law Kathi Findlay and her husband Jerry; and a brother-in-law Donald Blakley. Special loving aunt of her three nieces: Cherry Lace Belding, Shaelyn Rowland and Katelynn Blakley. Survived by her grandfather Donald Ellis and late Kathleen Olive (2020). Predeceased by her grandparents Francis Edward and Phyllis Cornwall.

Due to COVID-19-related restrictions, public visitation will be limited to only guests that sign up for specific time to attend. Each person attending must be listed as a guest. Guests must bring and wear face masks and maintain social distancing rules. Guests are asked not to attend if they are ill, if they have been around someone else who is ill or have travelled. Guests are encouraged to attend only when their time slot begins. If guests arrive too early, they are asked to wait in their vehicle. If guests arrive too late, they may be unable to enter. Public visitation will take place on Thursday, November 19th, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Service Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg. Time slots will be available via RSVP on Tanya’s tribute page or by calling (519-842-4238) between 9am and 4pm. A Complete Private Funeral Service by invitation to Celebrate Tanya’s Life will take place on Friday, November 20th, in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, Tillsonburg by Captain Nancy and Gary Sheils of the Tillsonburg Salvation Army Community Church. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations in memory of Tanya to a trust for her children can be made by cheque (payable to “Georgette Blakley”), would be gratefully acknowledged by the family and can be made through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Tillsonburg, entrusted with all funeral arrangements, with confidence.
