Obituary for Tim Hayward

Hayward, Timothy (Tim) Shawn (December 21, 1971 – March 29, 2022) –

It is with sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved husband, father, son, brother-in-law and friend, Tim Hayward, on March 29th, 2022, at the V.O.N Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 50. Many will remember Tim for his years as the friendly operator of Swiss Chalet/Harvey’s, Tillsonburg, alongside his wife Robin. In Tim’s spare time, he enjoyed watching and playing sports, namely playing Slo-pitch, disc golf and golfing. Tim was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers, Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leaf’s supporter. Above all else, Tim was a devoted family man that enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his wife and son. Lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 18 years Robin and always a caring father to their son Tyberius. Tim was born in London, Ontario to his much-loved parents, Reg and Elaine (nee Vermast) Hayward, both of Tillsonburg. Survived by his in-laws Bob and Bev Daniel, sister-in-law Heather (Gerry) McElhinney, of Mt. Elgin, brother-in-law Jeff (Jeanette) Daniel, of St. George. Also survived by three nephews Dustin (Rachel) McElhinney, Kyle McElhinney, Terence McElhinney, two great-nieces Aubrey and Georgia, and by many cousins. Tim is predeceased by his brother Christopher Hayward (August 28, 2021).

In keeping with Tim’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. All who knew Tim are invited to share special memories, favourite photos or contribute memorial donations to “VON Oxford” (to benefit Sakura House Hospice) via Tim’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (519)842-4238, which has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements, with confidence.

“Thank you to our Swiss Chalet & Harvey’s Family for their continued love and support during this difficult time.”
