Obituary for William Henry "Bill" Humphrey

Humphrey, William Henry (March 8, 1942 – December 28, 2021) –

Passed away, peacefully, our much-loved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, William (Bill) Henry Humphrey, a longtime resident of Brownsville, on December 28th, 2021, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, at the age of 79. Fondly referred to as Bill by friends and family. Many will remember Bill as a dedicated Dairy Farmer for many years in the Brownsville area, alongside his wife Lynn, who predeceased him on February 4, 2011, after 46 wonderful years of marriage. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed building model planes and ships. Always a caring father to his three children and their families Shawn (Cherry) Humphrey, of Oshawa; Steve Humphrey, of London; late Dawn Humphrey (Feb. 1, 2020). Devoted grandfather and great-grandfather to Trevor Humphrey (Kayla Smith), of Keswick and their children Victoria, Alex, Penelope, Abigale; Amber Humphrey, of Keswick; and Greg (Deb) Fawcett, of Lucan and their children Lucas and Leah.

In keeping with Bill’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place on April 9th, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Delmer Cemetery (312242 Dereham Line, Delmer), by Rev. Maurice Francis. All who knew Bill are welcomed to offer their support and care by sharing special memories, posting photos or by contributing memorial donations to “The War Amps” via Bill’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (519)842-4238, which has been entrusted with all arrangements, with confidence.

“The Humphrey family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the dedicated staff at the Tillsonburg Multi-Service Centre, M.S.C. Home Support Services, and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital. Your care and kindness for Bill will always be remembered.”
