Obituary for Wm. Bill Martin Prest

PREST, William (Bill) Martin (March 25, 1935 - June 9, 2021) –

Members of the Prest family are saddened by the passing of (Bill) Wm. Martin Prest, our much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Loved husband of 38 years of Ramona (“Mona”) C. (Lassaline) Prest. Loving father of his two daughters: Susan Siegel, of London; Karen Prest, of Toronto. Proud and caring grandfather of Timory Siegel (Anthony Ganly) and Samuel Siegel (Melissa) and their father Steve. Proud great-grandfather of Alexander and Claire. Survived by his sisters-in-law Joan Prest and Janette Robillard. Survived by many nieces and nephews: Alan (Shelley); Anne (Michael); Dorothy; Michelle (Rob); and Carrie. Predeceased by his parents Jack Prest and Dorothy Smith-Prest, by his sister Jane (Stan Bloomfield), brother Ron Prest, and by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Bill will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a good friend and relative to many. Bill worked for forty years for Ford Motor Co. in Windsor and became a Supervisor (Main Parts Depot) for Ford in Bramalea. In his spare time, Bill also was the Secretary and Treasurer of the Ontario Football Conference, which gave many Ontario kids a second chance, to demonstrate their skills and some even went on to play for College, University and Professional football clubs. Bill also enjoyed model railroading his whole life and most recently with the Tillsonburg Model Railroaders Club. He was well-respected in this endeavor.

In keeping with Bill’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends, Hickory Hills neighbours, and relatives are invited to offer their support and care by posting photos, sending flowers, sharing special memories and hugs from home on Bill’s tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com. A Private Memorial Service to Celebrate Bill’s Life and Legacy will be conducted on Monday, June 14th, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg by Rev. Pat Cook, of Otterville United Church. All attendees must wear a face covering and are asked to observe social distancing regulations.
