Bill will be remembered by many for his various community contributions and countless hours of volunteerism. For some years, alongside his wife Helen they farmed tobacco. Following this, Bill was employed as a welder at a former Tillsonburg tobacco factory. In more recent years, Bill was the head of maintenance between South Ridge Public School, Rolph Street Public School, Annandale High School, and he retired as an employee of Glendale High School. Always giving back to his community, Bill was a charter member of the Courtland Lions Club, a member of Knights of Columbus, Council 11727, Langton, a member of the Courtland Police Commission, and member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Langton. Bill was also the caretaker and an active member on the St. Ladislaus Cemetery Board, Courtland, and a longtime Delhi District Hungarian Hall executive member- he also served on the committee entrusted with celebrating 50 years of establishment. In Bill’s spare time, he enjoyed gardening and he was a very able and creative carpenter. For all his contributions, Bill was recognized as Citizen of the Year in Courtland, an award which he was so honoured to have received.

Bill is survived by his wife and best friend of 72 years, Helen C. (nee Matisz) Putoczki, of Tillsonburg.
