Obituary for Wilma Anne Pettit (Langfield)

We the family sadly announce the sudden passing of our loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a friend to many at First Baptist Church and the Tillsonburg Community where she lived, Wilma Anne (Langfield) Pettit formerly of Norwich in her 84th year. Wilma was a dedicated employee in the Dietary (Kitchen Staff) at the Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock for several years and the former Red and White Store in Norwich. Wilma was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg and the Hilda Lindsay Ladies Mission Circle. She was a supporter of the Tillsonburg Theatre Guild. Predeceased by her husband Gerald Pettit (1973). Survived by her loving family, son Keith Murray (Diana) of Delhi, and their children: Aaron (Melissa), Sarah (Cody), Drew (Melinda), and Mark; a daughter Christine of Calgary and children Ashley and Michael, son Jeff Murray, Tillsonburg and son Gerry. Proud and loving grandmother of Jared Dalton and great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren. Survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by four daughters: Darlene Murray (February 27, 2019); Pamela Dalton (January 29, 2019); and two infant daughters: Susan and Cynthia Murray. Predeceased by her brother Murray Langfield and her sister Shirley Lowe and husband Harold.

Due to COVID safety restrictions, public visitation will be LIMITED to ONLY guests that sign up for specific time to attend. Guests must bring and wear face masks and maintain social distancing rules. Guests are asked not to attend if they are ill, if they have been around someone else who is ill or have travelled. Guests are encouraged to attend only when their time slot begins. If guests arrive too early, they are asked to wait in their vehicle. If guests arrive too late, they may be unable to enter. Public visitation will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Tillsonburg, with four time slots available: 2:00 to 2:45 pm, 3:00 to 3:45 pm, 6:00 to 6:45 pm and 7:00 to 7:45 pm. Christian Funeral Service to celebrate Wilma’s life of faith and devotion to Jesus Christ to be conducted on Monday, July 27 at 2 pm in the Chapel of the MAURICE J. VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOMES – BURIAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-4238) by Pastor Stephen Amorin of the First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg.
