Obituary for Yvonne Van Haecke (Huyghe)

Passed away, peacefully, on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Woodingford Lodge, Tillsonburg, Yvonne (Huyghe) Van Haecke, of Tillsonburg and formerly of Langton, at the age of 92. Yvonne was born in Vladsloo, Belgium on August 13, 1926 to August Huyge and Judith Deveker (both late). Yvonne was a devoted member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church and a member of the Catholic Women’s League. Reunited in Heaven with her best friend of 64 years of Marcel Van Haecke (April 9, 2012) and her loving son Dan Van Haecke (Dec. 27, 2008). Yvonne leaves behind 4 loving children, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren: Dianne (Mike) Pickersgill, of Tillsonburg and children: Allan (Ashley), Kevin (Christa), Jeffrey (Laura); Ron (Debbie) Van Haecke, of Whitby and children: Aaron (Chantal), Heather, Alisha (Kyle); Rick (Carrie) Van Haecke, of Langton and children: Julie (Bret), Brandon (Kim); Doreen (Mike) Fulkerson, of Tillsonburg and their son Kaleb; and a daughter-in-law Donna (late Dan) Van Haecke, of St. Thomas and children: Jodie (Brad), Mehgan (Chris), Danielle.

Friends, former neighbours and relatives are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, Tillsonburg. Parish Prayers will be held on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel by Deacon Brian Hanley. A Complete Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to Celebrate Yvonne’s well lived life will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 51 Venison St. W., Tillsonburg by Rev. Fr. John Pirt. Interment to follow in the Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, 24 Albert Street, Langton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 262 Broadway St., Tillsonburg 519-842-4238. Memorial Donations to the “Woodingford Lodge Activation Tillsonburg,” or “St. Mary’s Church- Building Fund,” or the “Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation,” or the “Canadian Cancer Society” can be made through the funeral home and would be appreciated by the family.
